The Callings page is where the bishopric records each calling from the first conversation to the final release. Every calling has a status, notes, and a timeline. Ward council members cannot see this page, but they can propose names through Submit Name function.
1. Add a new calling
Click New calling and choose the position, the member being considered, and the current status.
Start a new calling with the position, member, and status.
2. Record the process status
A calling moves through several stages. Update the status as the process advances: Discussion, Pray about, Approved and Assigned, Called and accepted, Sustained, Set apart, Need to release, Need to thank at pulpit, Released, and Declined.
The status dropdown shows the full calling process.
3. Assign who extended the call
Use the Who will extend the call dropdown to record which bishopric member is assigned to extend the call.
4. Add notes and dates
The Notes field is for anything the bishopric needs to remember. Record the Sustained and Set apart dates when they happen.
Notes and dates keep the calling history in one place.
Best practices
- -Keep notes factual and brief. Do not record worthiness or sensitive details.
- -Update the status immediately after a calling is sustained or set apart.
- -Record the release date so the history is complete.
