Sally Ward is the President of Ward Leadership, a Rochester, NY area firm that offers executive and leadership development coaching , facilitation, strategic planning and training. Her work, “transforming leaders and lives,” helps business and nonprofit leaders zero in on their compelling vision, get people working better together, and develop new perspectives and proactive strategies that support organizational excellence and personal well-being.
A Certified Professional Coach, Sally Ward brings over 30 years of experience in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors, working with business owners and leaders, individual contributors, nonprofit executive directors, senior managers, and board members.
Prior to establishing Ward Leadership, Sally was a corporate sales manager, providing leadership, training and coaching for business growth and development. Having concurrently owned a successful business representing the company’s product in Rochester, NY for over 10 years, Sally acquired strong skills in visioning, planning, personnel and time management, and balancing professional and personal demands. She takes great pleasure in inspiring clients to do the same.
Sally’s rich nonprofit experience includes roles in senior management (Executive Director, project director), governance, strategic planning, and fundraising. She has chaired and worked extensively with Boards of Directors and is currently an active Board member and volunteer with several nonprofits.
Clients and Organizations I've Worked With
Sally is a graduate of Duke University and holds dual coaching certifications from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and The Coaches Training Institute (CTI). She has trained with the Center for Right Relationship in organizational and relationship systems, a pioneering body of work that fosters healthy interactions between business partners, teams, boards, groups, families and couples.
Sally was honored by the Rochester Women's Network in 2010 as the recipient of the W Award. This award is presented annually to a woman who works on behalf of other women, providing inspiration and leadership both in and out of the workplace, so that other women might grow, advance, and succeed.
When she’s not working, Sally is playing with equal enthusiasm. Her passions include time with family, preservation of open space and wildlife habitat, travel, and horseback riding. She thanks her animals for important lessons in living: a horse who offers insights on partnership and challenge, a dog who reminds her of the importance of acknowledging people, and two cats who have taught her to ask for what she wants.

"As a professional organizer, I value my time and read only a few select newsletters. Sally Ward's newsletter is one I'm always excited to receive. Her messages are real, heartwarming, educational, motivational and uplifting. And they're short, pertinent, and end with a fabulous quotation - what more could you ask for?"
